The study has to be done in two levels of complexity, namely, the macro and, with more
focus to, micro immediate contexts. At the same time, the macro research is about the role
and how the location fits into the city. The students are to establish possible opportunities
(such as routes and attractions) to sustain and offer legibility by the proposed Urban Heritage
Gallery for the Cultural and Creative City. The students will also begin to demonstrate an
understanding of the urban issue given in the scenario above.
Urban intervention refers to intentional actions and strategies designed to improve, transform,
or engage public spaces within a city. These actions often focus on addressing social,
cultural, or environmental issues by activating neglected or underutilized areas and
promoting community participation. The goal is to create more livable, sustainable, and
inclusive urban environments.
By this time of the semester, the students should be able to find their positions to develop the
Learning centre for the community. The students are to individually interpret the idea of
Learning centre for the community in Merdeka 118 Precinct and come up with an
architectural design strategy for the same.
The needs of the community should be responded to by design by exploring various possibilities
of relevant sub-questions that suit your interest and exploration from Project 1a. For the rest of
the semester, you will concentrate on designing a Learning Centre for the urban community.
